Malaga-born actor and director Antonio Banderas has confirmed he is collaborating with Andrew Lloyd-Weber to create a Spanish language production of the famous musical Phantom of the Opera. The musical is based on the 1910 novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux, describing the story of a soprano becoming obsessed with a masked musical genius living in the underground labyrinths of the Paris Opera. The show is expected to start in September 2023.
