This summer 2023, a number of direct flights between Malaga and New York will be operating three times a week. United, the US airline, has 52 return flights planned and will provide more than 17,000 seats in each direction. The transantlantic connection is anticipated to boost tourism throughout Andalucia. According to a recent analysis from Turismo Costa del Sol on American tourists, Malaga’s hotels and vacation rentals hosted 146,905 Americans in 2017, making it the eighth-largest foreign market for the region. Americans accounted for 30.6% of all nights stayed in Andalucia last year and 5.1% of all nights stayed in Spain. The new flight will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, until 28 September.
