Marbella has for many years attracted great football teams who come and train during the winter months, thanks to its superb weather conditions. This year it is expected that over 200 teams, including national ones, will play 300 matches and train in Marbella. Amongst the teams who have already visited are Borusia Dortmund and Fortuna Dusseldorf from Germany, Basel from Switzerland, and many others from Norway, Poland, Denmark, Hungary, and even South Korea and Canada. Women’s football is also another sector which is growing thanks to the established infrastructure and predictably favourable weather, evidenced by last month’s win of Spain against Germany by 4-0 for the under 17s. The economic boost from this sector has broken records from before 2019 and shows no signs of abating.
