The new urban development plan for Marbella has been approved unanimously by all councillors and is now sent to the Andalucia government for approval. Amongst many green zone projects and river parks, there is also an emphasis on improving transport. A plan for a train line has been included, which has set aside land for the railroad and train stations in San Pedro, Puerto Banus, Elviria and Calahonda. The plan also suggests improvements to summer-time circulation on the A7 highway. Interestingly, there is also provision for an underwater archaeological protection area in the waters off Puerto Banus.
